Founding member of The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (NGDB) John McEuen, along with a unique cast including some original NGDB members, will host a special night at the LPAC, sharing the music and memories of the band’s incredible career. Archival photographs, film, Circle session photos and music of early NGDB (including 8 mm footage from 1967) are interwoven with Dirt Band favorites, hot bluegrass and a unique look at NGDB’s 1977 Russia trip as the first American band to tour behind the Iron Curtain. When recording the landmark 1972 release, Will the Circle Be Unbroken, icons of bluegrass, country and country rock convened: Roy Acuff, Doc Watson, Merle Travis, Jimmy Martin, Earl Scruggs, Vassar Clements and Maybelle Carter. The product was the benchmark record that is relevant to this day (still an Amazon Top 20 seller). Relive those bygone days while also enjoying some of McEuen’s new music with a night you will long remember.
