You are invited to the Exhibit Opening of Antelope Valley Conservancy's new exhibit by Karyl Newman, "Selections From the Waste Wunderkammer", Saturday, August 25, from 4 to 7 pm.
The exhibit features items from the Waste Wunderkammer, a lay-archaeologist and anthropologist's view of our eco-relationship with the Mojave Desert, along with geo-located photographs and research into their origins. There are also interactive activities to learn about our desert ecosystem, desert wildlife, and the impact of discarded trash.
The conservancy office is next to the Quartz Hill Post Office. This exhibition is part of the Maiden LA county-wide survey of art happenings, that encourages the use of alternative spaces and considers our communities as a platform for generative discourse and exchange. This exhibit is kid friendly for children age 8 and older.
The exhibit will continue through October 25th, open to the public on September 8, September 22, October 6, and October 23, and by arrangement.
We look forward to seeing you!
