Top twelve contestants in California to compete in seven rodeo events

Lancaster, CA. October 11, 2017—  The RAM PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) California Circuit Finals Rodeo Committee and the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds today announced the upcoming RAM California Circuit Finals Rodeo on October 13th, 14th and 15th.

The rodeo will showcase the competitive skills of the top twelve contestants in the California Circuit for all seven rodeo events (bareback riding, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping and barrel racing). And once again, announcing will be provided by Don Jesser and Kelly Kenney.

Johnny Zamrzla, Committee Chairman of the RAM California Circuit Finals Rodeo 2017 commented,  "We are back with a bigger and better Circuit Finals Rodeo to present to the community.  Together with the Antelope Valley Fair and our many supportive sponsors, we are bringing the top 12 contestants in each of Pro Rodeo’s seven events to compete using the top animal "athletes" that have performed in numerous California rodeos.  This year, these champions will compete for a $176,000 purse. The competition is stiff between the best of the best contestants. We guarantee these three performances will be affordable with our $10 off tickets codes, and good clean fun for the entire family. We look forward to seeing you at the rodeo!"

Rodeo festivities kick-off on Friday, October 13th, Patriot Day, where fans are encouraged to wear red, white and blue. The gates open at 5p.m., and the Rodeo will begin at 7:00p.m.

The Saturday evening Rodeo on October 14th will begin at 7p.m., gates open at 8:00a.m. for the A.V. Guests are asked to wear "Pink” in honor of those who have lost their battle, who are survivors, who are currently fighting cancer and in support of finding the cure for Breast Cancer.

The Sunday, October 15th Rodeo is a matinee. The Gates open at 8a.m. for the Craft Fair, and the Rodeo will begin at 2:00p.m. Gates for the rodeo open at 11:00a.m. Seating for the 2:00p.m. matinee Rodeo only is unreserved festival seating (first come, first seated).

Taking place all 3 days will be specialty act, Troy Lerwill, "The Wild Child". Lerwill brings a little something out of the ordinary to the rodeo arena. Although raised in a rodeo family, Lerwill favored motorcycle racing and was a Utah State motocross champion at the age of 16.  With death-defying motorcycle leaps, wacky antics, thrilling maneuvers, flashy pyrotechnics and a healthy dose of comedy, Lerwill will have the Antelope Valley oohing, ahhing, and laughing during his three performances.  Even as a motorcyclist, Lerwill didn’t entirely abandon his rodeo roots. Unable to resist the draw of rodeo, he became a rodeo clown, bullfighter and barrelman in 1994. In 1998, he combined his two interests to create The Wild Child.
